Job Description

About the Role

The Business Strategist for AI Foundation Models is a pivotal role at Autodesk, responsible for developing and implementing business strategies that drive the adoption and monetization of AI capabilities across the company's platform and industry groups. This includes Architecture, Engineering & Construction, Product Design & Manufacturing, and Media & Entertainment. The successful candidate will operate at the center of Autodesk's AI transformation, shaping business strategy and analytics that inform AI development, technology roadmaps, and long-term priorities.

Day-to-day, the role entails building analytical and financial models to quantify the business impact of AI capabilities, developing forecasts for AI adoption and usage, and constructing business cases to guide investment and prioritization decisions. The Business Strategist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Finance, and Engineering, to ensure alignment and effective execution of AI strategies.

Autodesk's AI Foundation Models team is at the forefront of developing AI technologies that operate across the company's platform and business units. The team's work has the potential to transform how customers design and make, and the Business Strategist will play a key role in guiding the commercialization and scaling of these AI capabilities.

What You Will Do

  • Develop analytical and financial models to quantify the business impact of AI capabilities across Autodesk's platform and industry groups
  • Build forecasts for AI adoption, usage, revenue influence, inference costs, margin implications, and long-term planning
  • Construct business cases and decision-ready analysis to guide investment, prioritization, monetization, pricing, packaging, and leadership reviews
  • Model and optimize cloud, GPU, and inference cost economics, including utilization, scaling behavior, cost efficiency, COGS, cost-to-serve dynamics, and margin implications
  • Translate product telemetry into insights supporting monetization, pricing, packaging, and cross-industry growth opportunities
  • Create executive- and Board-ready presentations, narratives, and slide materials that communicate strategic recommendations, investment plans, tradeoffs, and business priorities with clarity and impact
  • Contribute to building repeatable dashboards, reporting frameworks, and tools to enable data-driven execution across Product, Finance, and Engineering teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of AI strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in AI, cloud computing, and GPU economics

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in business strategy, analytics, strategic finance, business operations, product strategy, product analytics, management consulting, or a similarly analytical role
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel
  • Experience building financial, operating, or business models across adoption, usage, revenue, COGS, margin, and ROI
  • Ability to create structured, executive-ready presentations and strategic narratives
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous environments and build frameworks from scratch
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clarity
  • Experience with cloud, GPU, and inference cost structures, or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on AI infrastructure economics

Nice to Have

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree
  • Management consulting experience combined with hands-on operating experience in a technology company
  • Experience with AI infrastructure, usage-based monetization models, model serving, inference costs, GPU economics, cloud economics, or compute cost optimization
  • Experience in SaaS economics, cloud cost analysis, or similar areas

  • To stand out, highlight your ability to communicate complex technical ideas to executive stakeholders and create structured, executive-ready presentations.
