About the Role
The Cable Jointer role at Ipsum is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. As a Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of high-voltage cable jointing work, as well as managing site safety and work quality. You will work closely with the project team to deliver programmed works to the highest safety standards, and will be expected to drive positive change across the business.The role is based in Oxford and will involve working on a range of projects, including those in the private and public sectors. You will need to be able to build strong working relationships with your peers and customers, and will be expected to manage site issues and interface with customers, staff, and other service providers.

What You Will Do
- Act as a Cable Jointer, responsible for the quality and compliance of high-voltage cable jointing work
- Manage site safety and work quality, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Deliver programmed works to the highest safety standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving continuous improvement
- Build strong working relationships with peers and customers, manages site issues and interfaces with customers, staff, and other service providers
- Operate within the private and public project network businesses, driving positive change across the business
- Ensure compliance with authorisation procedures and asset owner standards
- Manage electrical safety for any project, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Use Excel to manage data and track progress
- Collaborate with the project team to deliver high-quality results
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the safety of yourself and others
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Electrical Engineer with a LV/HV Jointer Qualification or equivalent
- Detailed understanding of current HV & LV electrical jointing techniques from 11kV to 33kV
- Solid knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation, and technical advances
- Good knowledge of health and safety practice and risk assessment processes
- Experience working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment
- CTC clearance and a UK driving license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with cable jointing and associated works
- Knowledge of private and public project network businesses
- Familiarity with electrical safety management and asset owner standards
- Certification in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering or health and safety
