About the Role
The CAD Designer - Land Development role at CPH is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to join a renowned multi-disciplined engineering and architectural design firm. As a CAD Designer, you will play a critical role in the design process, working on local and national land development projects that require precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with a team of engineers, architects, and designers to prepare presentations, develop concepts, and create construction documents. You will also be responsible for interpreting relevant codes and client requirements, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.As a key member of the project team, you will work closely with colleagues to implement established CAD standards and templates, prepare data and calculations, and perform site investigations and construction observations. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in this role, as you will need to balance multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

What You Will Do
- Prepare accurate and detailed presentation, design, and construction documents in AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and client requirements
- Collaborate and coordinate with the project team, including engineers, architects, designers, consultants, and clients, to develop and refine designs
- Interpret and apply relevant codes, regulations, and standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance
- Implement and utilize established CAD standards and templates to maintain consistency and efficiency across projects
- Prepare data and calculations, including quantities, areas, and other relevant information, to support the design process
- Perform site investigations, measurements, and construction observations to gather data and inform the design process
- Assist with compiling construction plans from all disciplines and submitting them to agencies having jurisdiction
- Prepare subsequent reports and exhibits based on site investigations and construction observations
- Provide general office and administrative support, including couriering, scanning, copying, document preparation, filing, and other tasks as required
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of project plans and strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project progress, including drawings, documents, and communications
What We Are Looking For
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in civil engineering plan design and land development projects
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including surveying, grading, and drainage
- Experience with MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing project requirements and deadlines
- Experience with Civil 3D and Adobe Suite is an asset, but not required
- Familiarity with commercial, retail, restaurant, and industrial projects is an asset, but not required
- Adaptable and receptive to instruction from others, with a willingness to learn and grow in the role
Nice to Have
- Experience with other CAD software, such as Revit or SketchUp
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or JavaScript
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in CAD design or a related field, such as a CAD certificate or a degree in engineering or architecture
