About the Role
The CAD Integrations Backend Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing software that connects engineering intelligence to leading CAD platforms. This involves designing APIs, integrating CAD systems with cloud-native infrastructure, and building backend services for AI-driven engineering workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers to build next-generation Engineering AI, leveraging their strong Python engineering skills and experience with commercial CAD APIs.Day-to-day, the role will entail collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, developing scalable and maintainable code, and ensuring seamless integration with cloud-native applications. What You Will Do
- Translate CAD models into machine-readable engineering data to enable AI-driven workflows
- Connect CAD platforms with cloud-native AI services to facilitate seamless integration
- Build scalable APIs to support complex engineering workflows
- Develop Python services that automate engineering workflows, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with researchers to design and develop next-generation Engineering AI solutions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code that meets industry standards
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation
What We Are Looking For
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining backend services and production software
- Strong Python engineering skills, with experience writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code
- Experience developing software integrations using commercial CAD APIs
- Experience building cloud-native applications, backend APIs, and data models
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
