About the Role
The Captain role at UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is a unique opportunity to oversee the safe operation of vessels over 150 feet in length, supporting the Atlantic Undersea Test & Evaluation Center (AUTEC) at Andros Island, Bahamas. This role requires a skilled professional who can plan and execute exercise voyage plans, manage crew assets, and ensure the safety of all crew and passengers. The ideal candidate will have experience in navigating vessels in a safe manner, maximizing exercise plan execution, and minimizing risk.The Captain will be part of a dynamic team that values effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, and good judgment. The role involves working closely with range control, other range assets, crew, and passengers to ensure the successful completion of exercise plans. The Captain will also be responsible for determining corrective action in the event of system failures and accomplishing post-mission debriefings and documentation.

What You Will Do
- Oversee the safe operation of vessels over 150 feet in length
- Plan and execute exercise voyage plans in support of AUTEC
- Manage crew assets to safely and effectively accomplish the exercise plan
- Navigate the vessel in a safe manner, maximizing exercise plan execution and minimizing risk
- Monitor vessel position to ensure proper deployment of MK30 and MK39 targets and the recovery of exercise torpedoes
- Communicate with range control, other range assets, crew, and passengers
- Determine corrective action in the event of system failures
- Accomplish post-mission debriefings and documentation
- Ensure the safety of all crew and passengers
- Manage all crew assets to safely and effectively accomplish the exercise plan
What We Are Looking For
- USCG Master 100 Ton Oceans license
- Radar, Bridge Resource Management, and STCW certifications and endorsements
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite, including Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically
- US Citizenship (required for Secret clearance)
