About the Role
The Caretaker role at Manor Park Primary School is a vital part of the school's operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, monitoring health and safety, and overseeing site security. What You Will Do
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school
- Monitor health and safety, identifying potential hazards and taking corrective action
- Oversee site security, ensuring the school is secure and accessible
- Supervise cleaning staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Organise workloads, prioritising tasks and managing time effectively
- Use initiative to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
- Build positive relationships with staff, students, and visitors
- Work closely with colleagues across the Department of Education, Sport and Culture
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Experience in supervising staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
