About the Role

As a Carrier Relationship Manager at Assurant, you will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with insurance carriers. Your expertise in account management and business development will be crucial in driving growth and revenue for the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, legal, and management, to create and implement business strategies that enhance carrier relationships and integrate Assurant's service offerings.

The role requires a deep understanding of the property and casualty insurance industry, as well as excellent technical knowledge and communication skills. You will be responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating daily interactions with insurance carriers, with the primary objective of cultivating, contracting, and building strong relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account development, managing client needs, and face-to-face interactions. You will be expected to travel up to 35% of the time, attending conferences and client visits to build and maintain relationships.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop short- and long-term goals and carrier roadmaps that support company initiatives
  • Foster strong working relationships with various functional areas within the company, including marketing, legal, and operations
  • Create business cases and project plans to enhance carrier-facing product offerings and drive business growth
  • Lead the implementation and contracting efforts for carrier integration activities
  • Develop and present carrier presentation materials in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Oversee carrier and lender contracting efforts in conjunction with the legal department
  • Generate carrier reports to demonstrate the value of integrating with Assurant's service portfolio
  • Actively pursue new carriers and lenders, arranging meetings to highlight the benefits of strategic relationships with Assurant
  • Identify and develop new and improved carrier and lender-focused services that align with the company's strategic goals
  • Build relationships and influence clients through effective communication and problem-solving

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in account development and managing client needs through face-to-face interactions
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility in the property and casualty insurance industry
  • Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of client business issues and goals
  • Proven experience in quickly connecting with clients, demonstrating knowledge of their business, and effectively communicating value
  • Ability to process complex, time-sensitive data from multiple sources, make decisions, and communicate actions effectively
  • Exceptional organizational and time management background
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
