About the Role

The CEMSIS Data Specialist role is a critical component of the Emergency Medical Services Authority's data management team. As a skilled technical program data specialist, you will be responsible for querying, evaluating, and analyzing complex data sets to create informative reports. Your expertise will help inform decision-making and drive the development of emergency medical services in California.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, equity, and excellence. You will work closely with the Data Technologies Unit Manager and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement and develop strategies to address them.

What You Will Do

  • Query and evaluate complex data sets to create informative reports
  • Develop and maintain databases and data validation systems
  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns
  • Create data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement data-driven solutions
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation of data systems and processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and reporting
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on data analysis and reporting tools

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work with complex data sets and identify insights
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with database management and data validation
  • Familiarity with emergency medical services and healthcare data
