About the Role
The CEMSIS Data Specialist role is a critical component of the Emergency Medical Services Authority's data management team. As a skilled technical program data specialist, you will be responsible for querying, evaluating, and analyzing complex data sets to create informative reports. Your expertise will help inform decision-making and drive the development of emergency medical services in California.The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, equity, and excellence. You will work closely with the Data Technologies Unit Manager and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement and develop strategies to address them.
What You Will Do
- Query and evaluate complex data sets to create informative reports
- Develop and maintain databases and data validation systems
- Analyze data to identify trends and patterns
- Create data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement data-driven solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation of data systems and processes
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and reporting
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Provide training and support to colleagues on data analysis and reporting tools
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work with complex data sets and identify insights
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with database management and data validation
- Familiarity with emergency medical services and healthcare data
