## About the Role The Central Engineering Finance & Strategy team at Stripe is a critical component of the company's financial infrastructure, providing thought partnership to engineering leadership and driving financial decisions that impact the business. As a Finance and Strategy Partner, you will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and reporting on AI investments, including token spend, engineering headcount, and management tools. You will collaborate with data science, engineering, and finance teams to deliver improvements in integrated financial systems and metrics, and help drive strategies for productivity improvement and cost efficiency. The role requires a deep understanding of expense accounting principles, including accruals, amortization, and capitalization, as well as the ability to manage cross-functional programs and build strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders.

## What You Will Do - Partner closely with business leaders to drive successful outcomes and provide financial guidance and support - Leverage your financial background to support and influence key strategic and business decisions - Be the financial partner for analysis and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives, such as foundational investments or business model shifts - Design and provide analytical rigor to measure efficiency and ROI of investments in headcount and non-headcount expenses - Drive reporting, process, and discipline for finance routines to shape and influence decision-making, including budget, forecast, monthly reviews, and long-range plans - Build and own models for in-depth analyses, as well as ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy - Define metrics and leading indicators of business performance and provide insights to stakeholders - Partner with cross-functional teams, such as Finance Systems, Data Science, and Infrastructure Engineering, to develop reporting dashboards and drive continuous process improvement - Drive standardization, simplification, and reporting enhancements across finance routines and processes - Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements

## What We Are Looking For - 7-9 years of relevant experience in strategic finance or FP&A - Demonstrated experience driving and executing on finance processes, including budget and forecast creation, contract negotiations, and headcount envelope management - Demonstrated experience using AI tools, such as coding agents, skills, and forecasting tools, to develop data visualizations and explore datasets - Fluency in AI cost drivers and metrics, including token caching/reads/writes, model selection principles, and billing frameworks - Deep understanding of expense accounting principles, including accruals, amortization, and capitalization - Ability to manage cross-functional programs and use influence without authority to manage non-financial deliverables from partner teams - Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with business partners and cross-functional stakeholders - Highly proactive, able to anticipate and execute critical analyses independently - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive business outcomes - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders

## Nice to Have - Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities - Familiarity with financial planning and analysis tools, such as Adaptive Insights or Anaplan - Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI - Certification in finance or accounting, such as CPA or CFA
