What You Will Do
- Review medical records to identify pertinent facts and assign codes using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Work closely with physicians to review documentation, resolve coding issues, and secure signatures
- Assist junior coders with medical terminology and policy interpretation
- Contribute to efforts to increase physician awareness of documentation requirements
- Prepare case reports and initiate follow-up for billing process
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Meet with physicians to review documentation and resolve coding issues

What We Are Looking For
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Experience with medical billing and coding
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in a related field preferred
- Previous coding experience or experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Certification in a specialized area of coding, such as orthopedic surgery
- Experience working in a remote or virtual team environment
