Job Description

About the Role

The Chaplain role at Marketplace Ministries is a part-time position that involves serving companies and their employees by providing spiritual support and care. As a chaplain, you will be the frontline staff fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of the organization. You will interact with companies, their employees, and the community, exhibiting character through personal and spiritual disciplines.

The role requires a deep understanding of the Holy Bible and its proper application, as well as the ability to incorporate Christian values and beliefs into day-to-day activities. You will be working in an interfaith setting, providing support to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Marketplace Ministries is committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business, and as a chaplain, you will be an integral part of this effort. You will work closely with the Executive Director of Operations and other team members to provide spiritual support and care to employees and their families.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose
  • Interact with companies, their employees, and the community in a manner that exhibits character through personal and spiritual disciplines
  • Make regular visits to company worksites to interact with employees and build relationships of trust and friendship
  • Provide confidential pastoral discussions for problem issues of employees and their immediate family members
  • Visit employees or immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, or other sites to provide care and support
  • Provide referral services and act as a coordinator for specialized assistance to employees and/or immediate family members
  • Assist in the planning, conduct, or attend funerals for employees or immediate family members
  • Make jail visits to employees and immediate family members
  • Work with companies to serve notifications of death and serious injuries to families and other employees
  • Provide post-termination care for laid-off or terminated employees
