About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Hospitable.com will play a pivotal role in driving the company's financial strategy and growth. This position requires a seasoned financial leader who can navigate the complexities of an international, multi-entity company, with a strong focus on scaling operations and building lasting value for the business and its stakeholders. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for leading a lean, AI-leveraged finance organization across the company's global operations.

As a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will be expected to bring a high level of financial expertise and acumen, with a deep understanding of cross-border tax and compliance, including US indirect tax, EU VAT, and Australian GST. The ability to communicate proactively and work autonomously in a fast-moving remote environment is essential.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning with the overall business objectives and goals.
  • Own the deployment of capital, making strategic decisions on investments and ensuring disciplined scaling of operations.
  • Provide financial leadership and clarity to the management team, enabling informed decision-making and investment with conviction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, partners, banks, and auditors.
  • Lead the development of the company's financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, leveraging AI and other technologies to drive efficiency and insights.
  • Develop and manage the company's budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other members of the leadership team to drive business growth and strategy.
  • Build, hire, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

  • A recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or a locally accredited CPA), with significant experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Deep international, multi-entity, and multi-currency experience, with a strong understanding of cross-border tax and compliance.
  • Proven track record of leading finance through real scale and building lasting value for a company and its shareholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of autonomy and proactive approach to work, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving remote environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and technologies, with experience in implementing and managing AI-leveraged finance functions.

Nice to Have

  • SaaS-enabled marketplace experience, with a focus on forecasting transactional GBV and recurring revenue.
  • Travel, hospitality, or proptech sector experience, with a deep understanding of the industry dynamics and trends.
  • Experience in building a finance function from founder-run to institutional-grade, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
