Job Description
About the Role
The Chief of Development will play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term sustainability and impact of CLEAN AIR TASK FORCE. As a key member of the Executive Team, this leader will oversee the organization's multi-stream, global revenue strategy and fundraising function. With a strong focus on diversifying revenue streams, the Chief of Development will work closely with the Executive Director, the Chief of Finance and Operations, and senior leaders within the Development and Communications and Marketing teams.The Chief of Development will be responsible for leading an overarching, global, diversified revenue strategy that ensures long-term financial sustainability and growth. This will involve stewardship of existing revenue streams, identification of new potential revenue streams, and the development of integrated, data-informed systems to target, engage, and convert diverse sources of financial support.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy with clear annual targets for both restricted and unrestricted revenue, aligned with CLEAN AIR TASK FORCE's mission and priorities
- Diversify revenue streams across foundations, major donors, individual giving, and other philanthropic partners
- Support fundraising efforts for CATF Action, the 501(c)(4) affiliate of Clean Air Task Force
- Provide strategic oversight of CLEAN AIR TASK FORCE's key donor and funder relationships, supporting front-line fundraisers and engaging board members as ambassadors
- Design and execute donor engagement and stewardship strategies that enhance acquisition, retention, and lifetime value
- Use data, analytics, and market insights to inform strategy, measure impact, and optimize fundraising performance
- Strengthen and expand global philanthropic alliances, positioning CLEAN AIR TASK FORCE as a preferred partner for funders advancing climate and clean air solutions
- Increase unrestricted funding to enhance long-term financial sustainability and organizational resilience
- Grow individual and mass-market giving through diversified digital and traditional channels
- Build and lead a collaborative, results-driven development team committed to excellence and accountability

- Proven experience in fundraising and development, with a strong track record of success in driving revenue growth and diversification
- Strong understanding of the non-profit sector, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing development team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, funders, and other stakeholders
- Strong programmatic skills, with experience in using tools such as Excel to drive revenue strategy and fundraising efforts
- A deep commitment to the mission and values of CLEAN AIR TASK FORCE, with a passion for driving real change in the world
