About the Role
The Chief of Staff role at Bjak is a critical position that requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and leadership skills. As the right-hand to the executive team, you will be responsible for driving business operations, managing remote teams, and ensuring the company's continued growth and success. Your day-to-day will involve overseeing the setup of new offices, managing vendors and payroll, and supporting recruiting operations. You will also be responsible for identifying areas of improvement and implementing processes to increase speed and reliability.The role is part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same. You will be working closely with the executive team to drive business outcomes, and your input will be invaluable in shaping the company's strategy. The team context is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on innovation and experimentation.
What You Will Do
- Lead business operations across multiple countries, managing entities, payroll, and local operations
- Develop and manage a team of Business Operations Partners, providing guidance and support
- Oversee office setup, entity incorporation, and market launches, ensuring seamless execution
- Manage external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance
- Support recruiting operations, including recruiter onboarding, hiring activities, and talent acquisition
- Plan and execute company events, offsites, and operational logistics, ensuring high-quality experiences
- Track key initiatives and ensure actions are completed on time, driving business outcomes
- Improve processes where needed, increasing speed and reliability
- Collaborate with the executive team to drive business strategy and growth
- Identify problems, make decisions, and drive execution independently, taking ownership of outcomes
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in business operations, strategic operations, founder's office, or similar roles
- Proven track record of managing projects involving multiple stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments
- Comfortable working across recruiting, finance, legal, and administrative functions
- Ability to identify problems, make decisions, and drive execution independently
- High ownership and willingness to take responsibility for outcomes
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
