Job Description

About the Role

The Chief of Staff to the CEO at Valiantys is a pivotal role designed to enhance the CEO's leverage, strengthen executive alignment, and improve the quality and pace of key decisions. This position does not oversee day-to-day company operations but instead acts as an extension of the CEO, focusing on driving clarity, follow-through, and executive coherence across the leadership team. The role is based in New York, New York, but Valiantys offers a flexible remote working policy, allowing for work from anywhere in the United States, preferably within the Eastern Standard Time zone.

The Chief of Staff will be integral in designing and running the executive operating rhythm, including C-suite meeting design, leadership team offsites, and the CEO's 1:1 cadence. This involves ensuring each forum has a clear purpose, the right participants, the necessary pre-work, and tangible outputs. Given the distributed nature of the leadership team, the ability to operate effectively in a remote setup and manage asynchronous communication patterns will be crucial.

What You Will Do

  • Design and execute the executive operating rhythm across a distributed leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain decision-making infrastructure, including RACI frameworks and real-time commitment tracking.
  • Create scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting rhythms to provide the CEO with clear visibility into transformation priorities, business risks, and decisions requiring intervention.
  • Partner with the COO and executive team to synthesize progress, identify potential slippage early, and enhance the quality of discussion at the executive level.
  • Own the output quality of the company's most important executive forums, ensuring clarity, accountability, and momentum.
  • Craft executive-level communications, including board updates, executive memos, decision briefs, and sensitive internal messaging.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on strategic priorities, sensitive issues, and cross-functional tradeoffs.
  • Represent the CEO in selected forums with delegated authority and return with recommendations or follow-up actions.
