Chief Technology Officer

About the Role

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve hands-on ownership of core technology decisions, architecture reviews, and critical implementations. You will also oversee the development of our engineering teams, both internal and external, to ensure that we are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible with technology. As a leader, you will be responsible for mentoring and managing your team members, helping them to grow and develop their skills, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

What You Will Do

• Define and drive the overall technology strategy and architecture for the company
• Lead the design, development, and scaling of crypto and digital asset platforms
• Take hands-on ownership of core technology decisions, architecture reviews, and critical implementations
• Oversee blockchain integrations, wallets, exchanges, APIs, and smart contract interactions
• Ensure the security, scalability, and compliance of our systems
• Build, mentor, and manage engineering teams, both internal and external
• Collaborate closely with business, compliance, and product stakeholders to achieve business goals
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies relevant to the crypto ecosystem
• Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring that we are always getting the best value for our spend
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and growth

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in a CTO or similar role, with a strong background in crypto, blockchain, and digital assets
• Prior hands-on experience in crypto, blockchain, or digital assets, with a deep understanding of the technical aspects of these fields
• Strong knowledge of blockchain platforms, wallets, exchanges, APIs, and distributed systems
• Experience with modern tech stacks, including cloud, microservices, and DevOps
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and system reliability, with a track record of delivering secure and reliable systems
• Ability to balance startup agility with enterprise-grade discipline, with experience of working in fast-growing companies
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience of building and managing high-performing teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with smart contract development and deployment
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements for digital assets
• Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
• Certification in blockchain or a related field, such as a Certified Blockchain Developer or Certified Cryptocurrency Trader
