About the Role
The CFSR Reviewer role at ICF is a unique opportunity for experienced child welfare professionals to join a team of experts in supporting the Children's Bureau. As a CFSR Reviewer, you will be responsible for conducting onsite reviews in states, applying the Onsite Review Instrument (OSRI) to review child welfare cases, and interviewing case participants. Your expertise and professional judgement will be crucial in making case rating decisions based on CFSR instructions and regulations.The role requires a deep understanding of child welfare programs and services, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be working closely with state reviewers, compiling summaries of team findings, and participating in group meetings during onsite reviews. Your digital skills will be essential in completing the OSRI and maintaining accurate records of case reviews.

What You Will Do
- Conduct onsite reviews in states, applying the Onsite Review Instrument (OSRI) to review child welfare cases
- Interview case participants, including children, parents, and caregivers
- Make case rating decisions based on CFSR instructions and regulations, using professional judgement
- Compile summaries of team findings during onsite reviews
- Participate in group meetings during onsite reviews
- Work closely with state reviewers to ensure effective teamwork and communication
- Apply digital skills to complete the OSRI and maintain accurate records of case reviews
- Travel for week-long onsite reviews, as required
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public administration, counseling, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years' direct field experience and/or supervisory, administrative, or management experience in a public or private child welfare agency
- Ability to travel for week-long onsite reviews
- Strong assessment skills, including the ability to gather information from interviews and documents
- Ability to make professional judgments based on the information collected during reviews
- Experience working in a federal, state, or local public child welfare program
- Knowledge of child welfare services and programs
- Digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in social work, human services, counseling, public administration, or a closely related field
- Supervisory, administrative, and/or management experience in a public or private child welfare agency
- Experience participating in a CFSR on a state team
- Experience working in a federal contracting environment
