What You Will Do

  • Provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings via phone or Zoom
  • Interpret orally between Chinese Mandarin and English in both directions with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
  • Work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Meet the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct assignments in a professional and timely manner, adhering to the company's standards and policies
  • Collaborate with other interpreters and staff members as needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality services
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

What We Are Looking For

  • Fluency in both Chinese Mandarin and English
  • Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings
  • Strong ability to interpret orally between Chinese Mandarin and English in both directions
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
  • Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
  • Reliable phone, laptop or desktop computer, and stable high-speed internet connection
  • Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of medical terminology in both Chinese Mandarin and English
  • Certification in interpretation, such as the Certified Interpreter (CI) or the Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI)
