About the Role

The chocolate maker position at Chocolate Tofino is a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern business acumen. Your day-to-day activities will include preparing special orders, operating machinery, and overseeing sales and merchandising of baked goods. What You Will Do

  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Prepare special orders for customers, including custom chocolates and gift baskets
  • Operate machinery to produce high-quality chocolate products
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient production and minimize waste
  • Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods, including visual displays and promotions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials
  • Collaborate with the team to develop new products and flavors
  • Participate in quality control to ensure high standards are met
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues promptly

What We Are Looking For

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, such as confectionery or baking
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage inventory and orders
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Dependability, accuracy, and reliability in all aspects of the role
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with chocolate or confectionery products
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures
  • Basic machinery operation skills, including tempering and molding
