About the Role

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve reviewing project plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. What You Will Do

• Review project plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
• Conduct quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment, ensuring that all estimates are comprehensive and accurate.
• Prepare procurement packages and send them to the market to obtain subcontractor pricing, negotiating the best possible rates for the company.
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring that all bids are thoroughly evaluated and the best options are selected.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive bids and tender proposals, working closely with the project team to ensure that all submissions are of the highest quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to align on project costs and methodologies, providing expert advice and guidance where necessary.
• Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities for cost savings, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date cost databases and pricing records, ensuring that all information is current and accurate.
• Complete quality documentation on active projects, ensuring that all records are comprehensive and up-to-date.
• Complete end-of-month reporting for clients, providing detailed updates on project progress and costs.

What We Are Looking For

• A degree in a relevant field such as civil engineering, construction management, or quantity surveying.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
