Civil / Mechanical Design Engineer (Water & Wastewater)

As a key member of the Water & Wastewater Division, you will be responsible for designing and managing projects related to sanitary, water, and storm drainage collection, distribution, and transmission systems. You will work closely with a talented team of professionals, including Project Managers, Technologists, Designers, and Engineers, to deliver high-quality projects that meet the needs of clients.

## What You Will Do - Prepare design drawings, reports, letters, and technical memorandums to support project delivery - Direct staff involved in the design process, providing guidance and oversight as needed - Support construction engineering services for assigned projects, ensuring that designs are implemented effectively - Maintain and build relationships with clients, responding to their needs and providing excellent customer service - Support and/or lead the preparation of fee proposals, identifying opportunities to add value to clients - Undertake quality control procedures to ensure that design standards are met and that completed work is of high quality - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements - Develop and implement innovative design solutions to complex technical challenges - Provide technical support to Senior Project Managers and inspection staff throughout the project delivery lifecycle - Prepare and review design calculations, ensuring that they are accurate and complete

## What We Are Looking For - 4-7+ years of design and project delivery experience in a civil consulting engineering environment - Proven history of delivering water and wastewater projects, with a strong understanding of relevant design principles and standards - Completed Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater management - Registered as a P.Eng, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply technical expertise to complex design challenges - Proficiency in relevant design software, including CAD and GIS systems - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork

## Nice to Have - Experience with project management software, including Asana or Trello - Familiarity with water and wastewater modeling software, including EPANET or SWMM - Knowledge of relevant design standards and guidelines, including those related to water and wastewater management - Certification in a related field, such as LEED AP or Envision
