About the Role

The Claims Examiner role at Sedgwick is a critical position that requires strong analytical and negotiation skills to manage complex liability claims. As a key member of the team, the Claims Examiner will be responsible for analyzing claims, determining benefits due, and negotiating settlements. What You Will Do

  • Analyze complex or technically difficult general liability claims to determine benefits due
  • Work with high-exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation
  • Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements
  • Identify subrogation of claims and negotiate settlements
  • Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves to claims
  • Manage reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Support the organization's quality program(s)
  • Travel as required

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Five years of liability claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience working with global clients and diverse industries
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Certification in claims management or a related field
  • Experience with claims management software and systems
