About the Role
The Client Success Lead plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding Affirm's relationships with merchant partners. As the primary post-sale point of contact, this individual will work closely with merchants to optimize performance, increase product adoption, and identify revenue expansion opportunities. The Client Success team serves as a strategic bridge across various teams, including Analytics, Product, Marketing, Credit, and Technical, to drive successful outcomes for both Affirm and its merchant partners.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer finance and e-commerce, as well as experience managing complex merchant relationships. They will be responsible for guiding merchants through the deployment and optimization process, ensuring seamless integration and maximum value from the partnership.
As a key member of the Client Success team, the Lead will report to the Senior Manager, Client Success, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve the overall merchant experience.
What You Will Do
- Manage a portfolio of accounts across various industries to foster long-term, strategic business relationships with merchant partners
- Develop and execute proactive client management strategies to drive incremental gross merchandise value (GMV) and revenue growth
- Analyze merchant performance and recommend programs to increase product adoption, promote marketing best practices, and optimize program financing programs
- Manage contract renewals, updates, and expansions to ensure seamless continuity and maximum value for both parties
- Deliver exceptional customer relationship management skills to ensure merchant satisfaction and retention
- Orchestrate cross-functional teams to improve the Affirm offering for merchants and drive business growth
- Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities through upselling and cross-selling
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of merchant needs and preferences to inform product development and improvement
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of B2B client-facing experience, preferably in a high-tech environment
- Experience negotiating and closing commercial contracts, such as RFPs and renewals
- Excellent customer relationship management skills, with the ability to manage strategic accounts
- Strong analytical abilities to review merchant performance and report on program impact
- Experience managing cross-functional projects with high attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to various stakeholders
- Knowledge of consumer finance offerings, integrated software solutions, and e-commerce
- Comfortable using Salesforce and BI tools
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the fintech or e-commerce space
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools
- Certification in sales or customer success, such as AWS or Salesforce
- Experience managing a team or mentoring junior colleagues
