Job Description

About the Role

The Clinical Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in Abbott's structural heart disease treatment business, providing clinical and sales support to customers and internal stakeholders. This position involves collaborating with Territory Managers to deliver exceptional case coverage and clinical outcomes for patients. As a Clinical Sales Specialist, you will be the primary resource for clinical support, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products.

The role entails working closely with interventional cardiologists, catheter lab staff, and ancillary personnel to educate them on the use of structural heart products. You will also provide technical support to physicians during procedures and communicate product, clinical, and market data to appropriate personnel. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, you will work to develop and implement product marketing strategies that meet the needs of customers and drive business growth.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with Territory Managers to provide excellent case coverage and clinical outcomes for patients
  • Serve as the primary resource for clinical support in the areas of surgical coverage, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products
  • Inform customers of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments in the industry
  • Actively engage in clinical, procedural, and technical discussions and link data outcomes to key messaging
  • Meet with existing and potential clients to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and provide creative and feasible solutions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activity
  • Provide input on product development and marketing strategies

What We Are Looking For

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 9+ years of related cardiovascular work experience, with 3+ years of Structural Heart or Heart Failure implantable device-specific clinical experience
  • Strong clinical orientation with the ability to influence a variety of clinician personality types
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Verification that you will satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other structural heart products or medical devices
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
  • Certification in a related field, such as cardiology or medical sales
  • Experience with sales force automation tools
