About the Role
The Cloud Engineer - Product Metrics role at ClickHouse is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-growing company that is revolutionizing the way businesses use data. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be part of the Product Metrics team, which is responsible for collecting, storing, and serving metrics from customers' ClickHouse instances. This team plays a critical role in delivering insights and analytics that support reliable operational decisions and enhance the customer experience.Day-to-day, you will work closely with the team to design, build, operate, and maintain petabyte-scale systems that process millions of new events every second. Your expertise in Golang, Kubernetes, and ClickHouse will be essential in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of these systems. The team's responsibilities also include gathering and processing data for internal billing and accounting systems, as well as customer-facing dashboards.

What You Will Do
- Take an active part in determining the roadmap for the Product Metrics team
- Work closely within the team to deliver new features, iterate, and improve them
- Design, build, operate, and maintain business-critical petabyte-scale systems
- Be responsible for the performance, reliability, availability, and cost-efficiency of the Product Metrics systems
- Mentor and support other team members, participate in design discussions, and collaborate with the team
- Be a part of on-call rotation and take ownership of the services you're running
- Participate in the development of the company's billing and accounting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues, implementing fixes and improvements as necessary
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for the engineering team
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
- 2+ years of software application development experience using Golang
- Experience with at least one of the major Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with storing, shipping, and retrieving large volumes of data efficiently using technologies such as ClickHouse
- Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, or similar
- Strong problem-solving mindset and solid production debugging skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams in a fully remote environment
- Ability to take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve short feedback loops
- Strong initiative and a preference for action, with a high level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability
Nice to Have
- Experience with Adjust and Excel for data analysis and metrics
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments
- Experience with machine learning or AI workloads
