Job Description

About the Role

As a senior cloud engineer at Sentinel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and designing cloud and virtualization solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in onboarding new customers, supporting data center migrations, and maintaining critical cloud infrastructure. You will be working closely with various cross-functional teams, requiring excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of server hardware, virtualization, cloud integrations, and security to ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal performance. Your experience in technical support and comfort in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment will be invaluable.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and manage mission-critical data center infrastructure
  • Provide senior-level technical support and system engineering for all Windows-based and Linux-based platforms
  • Plan, execute, and oversee the successful migration of data center infrastructure, applications, and services
  • Participate in after-hours work and OnCall rotation as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support
  • Develop and maintain documentation of cloud infrastructure and virtualization solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud and virtualization technologies and trends
  • Travel to Downers Grove, IL as needed for work requirements
  • Transport equipment between locations as required

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in cloud engineering and virtualization
  • Strong expertise in VMware, Hyper-V, UCS, Linux, and Windows environments
  • Experience with Hyper-V/SystemCenter and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Deep understanding of server virtualization, storage systems, and hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance

Nice to Have

  • Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
  • Knowledge of cloud security and compliance
  • Certification in cloud engineering or a related field
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
