About the Role

The Cloud Infrastructure Cost Analyst role at Qdrant is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, finance, and data analytics. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the cost structure of Qdrant's cloud-based products. This will involve working closely with the Cloud Engineering team to understand how architectural decisions impact infrastructure costs and developing models to estimate costs per customer, feature, or workload.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and experience working with large datasets, as well as familiarity with public cloud platforms and infrastructure components. You will be comfortable diving into cloud infrastructure concepts, analyzing usage data, and building tools and reports to help engineering, finance, and sales teams understand the economics of the platform.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze cloud usage and infrastructure spend to identify main cost drivers across the platform
  • Build and maintain reports on infrastructure costs, including free vs paid tier usage and product-level costs
  • Work closely with the Cloud Engineering team to understand the impact of architectural decisions on costs
  • Develop models to estimate costs per customer, feature, or workload
  • Forecast infrastructure spend based on usage trends and upcoming changes in the architecture
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, such as savings plans and resource sizing
  • Build internal dashboards and simple tools to make cloud cost data accessible to engineering, finance, and sales teams
  • Support internal teams with data for pricing, deal modeling, and infrastructure planning
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets for cloud infrastructure
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud cost optimization

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with Python and SQL
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and building reports or dashboards
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure components
  • Ability to translate technical usage data into cost models, forecasts, or business insights
  • Experience working with engineers and understanding how cloud architecture and resource usage affect costs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. computer science, mathematics, economics)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud cost analysis, FinOps, or infrastructure cost modeling
  • Experience working in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-heavy environments
  • Familiarity with cloud billing tools or cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing, etc.)
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, or usage modeling
