About the Role
SpaceX is seeking a CMM Source Inspector to carry out inspections at supplier sites for aerospace components. This role requires significant travel and offers a unique opportunity to directly impact quality assurance in the space industry.Responsibilities
- Travel up to 75% of the time for inspections.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured parts.
- Utilize standard gauges to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Perform ongoing documentation review and certification verification.
- Support the development of inspection plans and corrective action processes with suppliers.
- Collaborate with various teams to improve inspection processes continuously.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with CMM programming and operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Proficiency in using Excel and understanding quality management systems.
Nice to Have
- Experience in aerospace precision inspections.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- CMM programming knowledge using PC-DMIS.
