COME002: Strategic Planning Manager

About the Role

The role is part of a virtual organization that utilizes digital tools such as G-Suite, Slack, Jira, and Salesforce. You will be working closely with a team of like-minded professionals who are passionate about addressing the STEM education gender gap. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the lives of middle school girls in New Jersey, and you will be part of a mission-driven network of pro-bono contributors.

JerseySTEM's goal is to improve access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls. As a Strategic Planning Manager, you will play a key role in achieving this goal by identifying potential partners, building relationships, and developing strategies for collaboration.

What You Will Do

• Seek out connections at community organizations such as the YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Urban League
• Make virtual presentations to community groups to explore partnership opportunities
• Attend a weekly virtual team meeting on Sundays at 6pm EST
• Think outside the box to develop creative arrangements for partnerships
• Establish and maintain connections with external organizations
• Explore ideas for partnership and collaboration with community organizations
• Work closely with the team to achieve JerseySTEM's mission
• Utilize digital tools such as G-Suite, Slack, Jira, and Salesforce to manage work and communicate with the team
• Be flexible and adaptable in a virtual work environment
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new ideas for partnerships and collaborations

What We Are Looking For

• Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
• Ability to establish and maintain connections with external organizations
• Ability to think outside of the box and be creative in arrangements
• Resourceful, can-do attitude
• Outreach experience preferred
• Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, Salesforce)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to commit to a minimum of six months

Nice to Have

• Experience working with community organizations or non-profits
• Knowledge of the STEM education landscape in New Jersey
• Familiarity with Salesforce and other digital tools
• Experience with virtual presentations and online communication
