About the Role

The Commercial Account Executive role at Gitlab is a key position that involves managing sales and customer relationships with mid-market clients. As a primary point of contact, you will be responsible for driving business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of the tech industry and the ability to articulate the value of Gitlab's solutions to prospective and existing customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and customer relationship management, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota. You will be working closely with the business development team and sales management to manage a broad book of business and focus on exceeding client expectations.

What You Will Do

  • Meet or exceed quota while fostering strong customer relationships
  • Articulate the value of Gitlab to commercial prospects and customers in the US West region
  • Take ownership of and act as the CEO for the book of business in your territory
  • Document the buying criteria and process, next steps, and owners
  • Build a strong pipeline through a healthy cadence of prospecting activity
  • Prospect and close new business to expand your territory
  • Ensure adoption of our solutions and avoid churn and contraction
  • Work and collaborate with our Partner ecosystem to drive new business and value for our customers
  • Create an accurate forecast for each quarter against your plan/budget
  • Drive attendance to our events to further network with current and prospective customers

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in sales or a related field
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Strong understanding of the tech industry and Gitlab's solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to articulate the value of Gitlab to commercial prospects and customers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with sales tools such as Adjust and Excel
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
