About the Role

The Commercial Account Manager position at Salesloft represents a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and strategic sales professional to join a fast-growing and high-performing team. As a key member of the sales team, this role is pivotal in building and maintaining personal relationships with clients, driving net-new revenue, and ensuring customer success. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented, growth-minded advocate with a laser focus on deepening and expanding relationships within the existing customer base.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve full-cycle account ownership, managing all commercial transactions, including upsells, cross-sells, and the end-to-end renewal process. A strong understanding of the sales process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think critically are essential for success in this position.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and ultimate owner of the account relationship, managing all commercial transactions.
  • Drive net-new revenue by actively prospecting within your assigned territory to identify, qualify, and close new ACV opportunities.
  • Develop and execute success plans for high-value accounts to ensure long-term alignment between their business goals and our solutions.
  • Monitor account health and usage patterns to identify potential churn risks early, implementing 'save' strategies to protect existing recurring revenue.
  • Cultivate ties with VPs, C-suite executives, and key stakeholders to move beyond a vendor relationship and become a trusted business advisor.
  • Provide leadership with accurate monthly and quarterly revenue forecasts for both net new bookings and churn.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor movements to effectively position our value proposition against market alternatives.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Product, and Support teams to resolve complex client issues and ensure seamless post-sale transitions.
  • Collaborate with Renewal Account Managers to streamline the execution of long-tail, lower-spend accounts, while identifying and 'cherry-picking' growth potential within that book to migrate into higher-value tiers.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in a technology or software sales environment.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, including prospecting, qualifying, presenting, and closing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
