About the Role
Elevenlabs is transforming how we interact with technology, and we're looking for a Commercial Counsel to join our team in APAC. As a key member of our Legal Team, you will support complex commercial transactions, draft and negotiate agreements, and provide practical advice to cross-functional teams. Your expertise will enable our company to navigate diverse legal and regulatory frameworks in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.Our team is comprised of researchers, engineers, and operators who are passionate about creating lasting positive impact. As a Commercial Counsel at Elevenlabs, you will work closely with our sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives. Your deep understanding of regional requirements and industry best practices will be essential in developing, maintaining, and localizing contract templates, playbooks, and policies.
What You Will Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including enterprise customer contracts and strategic partnerships
- Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement go-to-market strategies
- Monitor and interpret evolving regional legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks
- Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams
- Contribute to scaling the Legal Team and supporting the growth of the company
- Collaborate with global colleagues to provide practical, business-oriented advice that enables growth while managing risk
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in commercial law, preferably in the tech industry
- Strong understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and data protection regulations
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including SaaS and licensing agreements
- Familiarity with AI-related legal and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and other productivity tools
- GTM experience and knowledge of sales transactions
Nice to Have
- Experience in supporting high-growth companies
- Knowledge of multiple jurisdictions and their regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies
- Certification in commercial law or a related field
