Job Description

About the Role

The Commercial Counsel - EMEA Lead role at Dropbox is a key position that requires a highly experienced and skilled commercial attorney. As a member of the global commercial legal team, this role will focus primarily on EMEA sales and channel-related deals, processes, and relationships, as well as EMEA-specific procurement deal work and support. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Global Commercial Legal and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's business goals.

The role involves working closely with sales and channel teams to innovate and leverage technology to create and drive efficiencies in a world-class commercial legal function. This requires a deep understanding of the EMEA regulatory scheme and its impact on contractual relationships and negotiations, including GDPR, DORA, TUPE, and the EU AI Act.

As a leadership role, the Commercial Counsel - EMEA Lead will also have the opportunity to take on and grow a management and leadership role in the EMEA region. This involves partnering with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, product, and other business teams, to deliver efficient, scalable approaches to commercial matters.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with sales and channel teams to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts with Dropbox business customers, channel partners, and distributors around the world
  • Develop and implement scalable approaches to commercial matters, including sales and channel deals, processes, and relationships
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, product, and other business teams, to deliver efficient and effective commercial legal solutions
  • Provide legal support and guidance on EMEA-specific procurement deal work and other commercial matters
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the EMEA regulatory scheme and its impact on contractual relationships and negotiations
  • Manage and grow a team of commercial attorneys and professionals in the EMEA region
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate sales and channel teams on commercial legal matters
  • Collaborate with the Head of Global Commercial Legal to develop and implement global commercial legal strategies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and other stakeholders
