About the Role
The Commercial Title Examiner role at First American is a vital part of the company's National Production Services division. As a title examiner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure closing of large-scale real estate transactions. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential in analyzing public records, verifying ownership, and identifying potential title issues.The team you will be working with is dedicated to providing excellent service to clients, and your expertise will be valued in this fast-paced environment. With a strong foundation in title insurance and a keen eye for detail, you will be responsible for managing a variety of projects, from single to multi-property commercial transactions.
What You Will Do
- Manage commercial title transactions, including single and multi-property deals
- Analyze public records, including deeds, liens, and easements
- Verify legal property descriptions and identify potential title issues
- Collaborate with underwriters and internal partners to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare title commitments and reports with precision and clarity
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information through careful research and documentation
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and property data platforms to stay organized and efficient
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of relevant legal and real estate terminology
- Provide clear and professional communication with a customer service mindset
- Work in a paperless environment, utilizing digital tools to streamline processes
What We Are Looking For
- At least 3 years of directly related commercial title insurance experience in title searching, examining, and writing commitments in the state of Delaware
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and internet-based research tools
- Understanding of relevant legal and real estate terminology
- Ability to analyze complex information and solve problems independently
- Highly organized and detail-driven, with excellent communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with property data platforms and company systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience with title insurance software and technology
- Knowledge of Delaware-specific title laws and regulations
- Certification in title insurance or a related field
