About the Role

The Community Manager role at Reddit is a unique opportunity to join a team that is passionate about building and fostering online communities. As a community manager, you will be responsible for growing user engagement, managing online communities, and developing strategies to increase user retention. You will be working closely with the International Community team to help Reddit expand its reach outside of the US.

The International Community team plays a key role in helping Reddit realize its mission of bringing community and belonging to everyone in the world. As a community manager, you will be at the forefront of jumpstarting and fostering local communities, and will be an expert in the French market.

Reddit is a community of communities, with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 126 million daily active unique visitors. The company is looking for someone who is passionate about online culture, has excellent communication skills, and can think strategically.

What You Will Do

  • Gain a deep understanding of the French market and identify user and moderator pain points, competitors, and market opportunities
  • Cultivate, recruit, educate, and grow a local community of moderators
  • Implement a conversion funnel to onboard external creators and local users to turn them into active moderators
  • Be a public face with local volunteer moderators to build trust and drive engagement in local communities
  • Mediate conflicts and help drive solutions
  • Iterate, innovate, and scale the consumer growth playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans
  • Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize and improve the international consumer growth playbook
  • Run reports, build dashboards, analyze data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives
  • Leverage data to uncover community and moderator insights that will influence the direction of your market pod
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and BD teams

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of community development, project management, growth, operations, or product consulting experience
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of French culture, including current events, politics, customs, traditions, language, topics of interest, taboos, etc.
  • Nuanced comprehension of the digital landscape and the cultural intricacies inherent within it
  • Succinct and persuasive communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, local users, moderators, partners, content creators, influencers, etc.
  • Results-obsessed with outstanding execution and high attention to detail
  • Deep interest in developing and driving projects, framing issues and seeking solutions, testing hypotheses, and iterating on process improvements
  • Proficiency in English and based in the UK or Ireland

  • Experience working with online communities and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of community management tools and software
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
