What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Business Leaders, and Recruiting teams to address compensation-related issues and provide solutions that support business goals.
  • Own offer approvals and offer analysis, capturing emerging market trends to ensure offers are consistent with OpenAI's compensation philosophy.
  • Manage the benchmarking process to ensure compensation strategies are competitive and aligned with market standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners to gain a deep understanding of the talent within each organizational unit.
  • Support compensation design and optimization, including job architecture and sales compensation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the compensation market, including trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform compensation decisions.
  • Work closely with the HR team to ensure seamless integration of compensation strategies with other HR functions.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure that compensation information is clearly and accurately communicated to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging trends in compensation, applying this knowledge to continuously improve OpenAI's compensation practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • 6-10+ years of experience in compensation or related roles, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective compensation strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with various stakeholders, including business leaders, HR partners, and recruiters.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in job architecture or sales compensation is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex compensation challenges.
  • Experience with compensation software and systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, human resources, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a global environment, with knowledge of international compensation practices and regulations.
  • Certification in compensation, such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or GRP (Global Remuneration Professional).
