About the Role
The Compensation Lead role at Affirm is a pivotal position that requires a deep understanding of compensation systems, data analysis, and market trends. As a key member of the People team, this role will own the end-to-end management of compensation systems, ensuring that they are set up to support Affirm's policies, procedures, and employees. Day-to-day, this will involve working closely with various stakeholders to manage semiannual compensation processes, conduct compensation studies, and analyze market data to inform competitive compensation structures.The People team at Affirm is dedicated to fostering a high-performing, inclusive organization where all employees can thrive. What You Will Do
- Manage the end-to-end administration of semiannual compensation processes, ensuring timely and accurate implementation.
- Develop and participate in all components of annual compensation studies to evaluate Affirm's competitive market positioning.
- Conduct special projects for ad hoc compensation analyses across a variety of areas, including incentive compensation, equity programs, and pay equity analyses.
- Own the pay reporting process for the various geographies Affirm supports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with compensation training and communications, providing clear and comprehensive information to employees and senior leaders.
- Collaborate with the People team to develop and maintain compensation programs that support Affirm's goals and values.
- Analyze market data and trends to inform recommendations on compensation structures and ranges.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that compensation systems are aligned with business objectives and employee needs.
- Develop and maintain documentation of compensation processes and procedures.
- Participate in industry surveys and benchmarking studies to stay informed about market trends and best practices.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in compensation or people analytics, with a strong background in data analysis and market research.
- Experience with compensation management systems, with a strong preference for Pave.
- Passion for working with data and an analytical mindset to turn raw data into actionable insights.
- Attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong team orientation with a collaborative style; ability to work effectively across internal teams.
- Leads with strong judgment and integrity; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proven ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Highly effective verbal and written communications skills; ability to distill complex concepts/information to employees and senior leaders in a digestible manner.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple high, and potentially shifting, priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service background and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools like Sigma Computing and Claude Code for data analysis.
- Certification in compensation or a related field, such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional).
- Background in finance or accounting, with an understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of ambiguity.
