About the Role
The Compliance Lead, Product Advisory role at Affirm is a critical position that requires a strong background in financial services compliance. As a key member of the Direct-to-Consumer Product Compliance team, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure that Affirm's products are compliant with regulatory requirements. Your expertise will guide the development of new products and services, helping to identify and mitigate compliance risks.The Compliance team at Affirm is responsible for designing and implementing a compliance program that proactively addresses regulatory requirements. This includes advisory, training, testing, monitoring, reporting, and oversight. As a Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for providing guidance on complex and ambiguous scenarios, balancing regulatory expectations with business and customer considerations.

What You Will Do
- Collaborate with Product teams to optimize Affirm's offerings by identifying and mitigating compliance risks
- Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Product teams to complete reviews and address root causes of compliance issues
- Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials
- Operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work
- Support the completion of compliance risk assessments and control inventory
- Serve as an expert on regulatory compliance, especially as it applies to new and revised financial products and services
- Identify and assess compliance risks associated with new products and services
- Develop and implement compliance plans to mitigate identified risks
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- Strong background in financial services compliance, preferably in a fintech company
- Experience advising on consumer-facing products within complex regulatory environments
- Solid understanding of the fintech landscape and regulatory requirements
- Ability to operate effectively in gray areas, balancing regulatory expectations with business and customer considerations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver detailed and diligent work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Compliance certification, such as CCEP or CSCP
- Experience with compliance management systems and tools
- Knowledge of Canadian financial regulations and laws
- Experience working in a remote team environment
