About the Role
The Construction Lawyer role at Teams Squared is a unique opportunity for an experienced legal professional to support the company's clients in managing construction-related legal and contracting needs. As a key member of the legal team, the successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, advising on disputes, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of construction law, industry practices, and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and external counsel as needed. The role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs, providing expert legal advice, and developing strategies to mitigate risks and disputes.

What You Will Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including EPC, design-build, subcontractor agreements, and consultancy agreements
- Advise stakeholders on construction-related claims, change orders, delay disputes, and termination issues
- Assist with project risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies throughout the construction lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local construction regulations and licensing requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and external counsel as needed
- Support dispute resolution, including litigation or arbitration proceedings when necessary
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert legal advice and guidance
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and best practices in construction law
- Contribute to the development of construction contracts, policies, and procedures
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members as needed
What We Are Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Law; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Construction Lawyer
- Experience working with APAC-based clients or projects is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of construction law and industry practices
- Solid understanding of standard construction contracts, including AS 4000, D&C, EPC, and bespoke agreements
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
- Experience advising on large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects

- Experience working with Excel and other project management tools
- Certification in construction law or a related field
