About the Role
The Consultant II - Epic Revenue Cycle role at Guidehouse is a unique opportunity for healthcare technology professionals to support the implementation and optimization of Epic revenue cycle applications for healthcare clients. As a key member of the Health IT Solutions team, you will work closely with clients to analyze their revenue cycle workflows, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize their Epic systems. As a Consultant II - Epic Revenue Cycle, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients, from large healthcare systems to smaller community hospitals, each with their unique challenges and opportunities. What You Will Do
- Support the configuration and optimization of Epic revenue cycle applications across front-end, middle, and back-end functions
- Participate in Epic implementation or optimization projects as part of a project team, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
- Conduct current-state workflow analysis and contribute to system-enabled improvement recommendations, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to optimize client workflows
- Build, test, and validate Epic functionality, including Patient Access, HIM, Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, and Resolute applications
- Support the development and delivery of end-user training materials and sessions, ensuring that clients have the skills and knowledge needed to effectively use their Epic systems
- Document workflows, system configurations, and project artifacts, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of project activities and outcomes
- Collaborate with project team members, client stakeholders, and technical resources to drive project outcomes and ensure client satisfaction
- Provide support during go-live activities, including issue tracking and resolution support, to ensure a smooth transition to new or optimized Epic systems
- Help identify system or workflow issues and escalate as needed, working closely with internal teams and clients to resolve problems and improve overall system performance
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice documentation, sharing expertise and experience with other consultants and analysts to drive continuous improvement in healthcare technology outcomes
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, with a strong foundation in healthcare technology and operations
- 2+ years of hands-on Epic revenue cycle experience, with a deep understanding of Epic systems and workflows
- Experience supporting revenue cycle functions across the end-to-end continuum, with emphasis on back-end operations (billing, collections, denials)
- Involvement in at least one Epic implementation or major optimization effort, with a proven track record of delivering successful project outcomes
- Working knowledge of Epic revenue cycle applications, with the ability to analyze, configure, and optimize workflows and system settings
- Understanding of revenue cycle workflows, reimbursement models, and compliance, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and develop creative solutions
- Ability to analyze, configure, and optimize workflows and system settings, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Experience with reporting, analytics, or performance monitoring within Epic, with the ability to interpret data and drive meaningful improvements in healthcare technology outcomes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, with a strong foundation in healthcare technology and operations
- Epic certification in one or more revenue cycle applications (Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Cadence, Prelude, Revenue Guardian, or HIM)
- Experience with Epic Tapestry, Welcome, or Claims and Remittance applications, with a deep understanding of Epic systems and workflows
- Knowledge of payer contracting and denial management strategies, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and develop creative solutions
- Experience with Epic upgrades and application updates, with a strong understanding of the latest Epic systems and technologies
