About the Role
The Consultant role in Personal Lines Property and Specialty Product Management at Liberty Mutual Insurance is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the insurance industry. As part of the US Retail Markets Property & Specialty Product Delivery team, you will be at the center of a large-scale business and technology transformation. Your primary focus will be on driving product convergence analysis, developing requirements, and supporting the Legacy Book strategy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Technology, and Delivery, to turn complex problems into clear, actionable solutions.The team is organized into five functions: State Management, Development, Delivery, Underwriting Effectiveness, and Specialty. This structure enables collaboration and coordination across different aspects of product management, ensuring a comprehensive approach to insurance product development. Your role will be critical in shaping cross-functional working models, influencing product strategy, and helping design organizational structures that support the transformation effort.
What You Will Do
- Drive product convergence analysis: research current-state products, identify differences, and recommend go-forward solutions
- Own requirements development timelines: build and manage workplans, coordinating with stakeholders including Product Development, Delivery, and Pricing
- Support our Legacy Book strategy: help develop a consolidation strategy for Legacy Books across the P&S portfolio
- Build organizational working models: design and maintain cross-functional engagement structures
- Document converged product requirements: collaborate with partners to define and formalize product requirements
- Partner with leaders across Product, Technology, and Delivery to turn complex problems into solutions
- Help define the next generation of Property & Specialty insurance products
- Build the roadmap for product development and launch
- Collaborate with the Technology team to modernize pricing and supporting technology
- Work with the Underwriting Effectiveness team to ensure effective underwriting practices
What We Are Looking For
- Insurance product knowledge, especially Personal Lines Property products
- Project management experience: ability to build plans, manage stakeholders, and keep complex workstreams moving
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills: comfortable breaking down ambiguous problems into clear recommendations
- Collaborative, energetic approach: ability to work across teams, escalate when needed, and stay focused on outcomes
- Comfort with ambiguity: ability to thrive in an environment where not everything is defined
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
