About the Role

The Consulting/Principal AWS Network Infrastructure Engineer role at LexisNexis is a key position that will help define best practices and establish a cloud vision for the company's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AWS networking services, including VPC, Direct Connect, Route 53, CloudWAN, and Transit Gateway, as well as experience with network security principles and tools.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available network infrastructure solutions in AWS
  • Manage and optimize AWS networking services, including VPC, Direct Connect, Route 53, CloudWAN, and Transit Gateway
  • Implement and maintain network security best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and security groups
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Python
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams
  • Monitor and optimize cloud costs, implementing cost-saving measures where possible
  • Ensure that all cloud network solutions comply with LexisNexis standards

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5+ years in AWS cloud engineering and architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS networking services and best practices, including VPC, AWS Firewall, Transit Gateway, WAF, Security Groups, CloudWAN, NACLS, Shield Advance, and Direct Connect
  • Advanced understanding of networking protocols and services, such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
  • Proficiency in network security principles and tools
  • Skilled in network automation and scripting
  • Experience in developing IaC with advanced skills in tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud networking technologies, such as SD-WAN and SDN
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
  • Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
