About the Role

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, and we're seeking a skilled Containerization & Virtualisation Engineer to join our team. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, and IoT.

Responsibilities

As a Containerization & Virtualisation Engineer, you will work on next-generation open source VMM or container technology, including projects like RustVMM, Rockcraft, and LXD. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a global team of experts in virtualization and container technology.

Requirements

  • Exceptional software engineering skills in Go, Rust, or C/C++
  • Experience in virtualization and container technology
  • Strong understanding of kernel networking and storage capabilities

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Docker images and container orchestration
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure
