About the Role
The Content Lead at Plaid is a pivotal role responsible for defining and scaling the company's content strategy to drive demand generation and brand awareness. This involves building a high-functioning editorial operation that ensures voice and tone consistency across all channels, elevating Plaid's brand through high-quality, integrated content.Day-to-day, the Content Lead will oversee Plaid's editorial calendar, manage the company's blog and customer and partner newsletters, ensuring editorial voice, tone, and quality standards are met across all content. The role also encompasses developing an organic social strategy to create an engaging social presence for Plaid, which grows comprehension for the company's products and trust in its brand.
The Content Lead will partner across the marketing department to align content with product launches, campaigns, and demand generation goals. This includes building processes that streamline content creation, increase output, and ensure cross-channel alignment.
What You Will Do
- Define and scale Plaid's content strategy to drive demand generation and brand awareness
- Build a high-functioning editorial operation with a consistent voice and tone across channels
- Oversee Plaid's editorial calendar across owned channels
- Manage Plaid's blog, customer, and partner newsletters
- Develop an organic social strategy to grow Plaid's social presence
- Partner with marketing teams to align content with product launches and campaigns
- Build processes to streamline content creation and ensure cross-channel alignment
- Manage and mentor a lean content team and external agencies
- Measure content performance and share insights to drive program strategy
- Flex across strategy and execution to support the content team
- Ensure editorial voice, tone, and quality standards are met across all content
What We Are Looking For
- 15+ years of content marketing or editorial experience, with a focus on B2B or fintech
- 8+ years of experience in building and managing high-performing content teams
- Strong editorial judgment with the ability to establish and enforce high editorial standards
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills to create compelling narratives
- Strong analytical skills to use data in assessing content performance and driving strategy
- Willingness to work across strategy and execution
- Experience with content management systems and tools
- Understanding of SEO principles and how to apply them in content strategy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
Nice to Have
- Experience with fintech or financial services content
- Knowledge of paid media and how to integrate it with organic content strategies
- Familiarity with design principles and the ability to guide visual content creation
- Certification in content marketing or a related field
