About the Role

Avery Dennison is seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join their team in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a best-in-class Global Contract Operations Program for the law department. This role is critical in ensuring that all contracts are properly managed, and that the company is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a corporate law department, with a strong understanding of contract lifecycle management and proficiency in digital platforms such as Ironclad.

The Contract Specialist will work closely with the law department team members, IT business partners, and business stakeholders to understand and refine requirements, objectives, and processes. They will be responsible for driving strategic solutions and ensuring that all contracts are properly stored and managed in the Ironclad CLM platform. This is a remote opportunity, and the successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously and collaboratively to design and implement both tactical and project-related deliverables.

The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential. The Contract Specialist will also be responsible for completing Ironclad CLM Administrator training and leading contract template rationalization and harmonization efforts.

What You Will Do

  • Establish and maintain a best-in-class Global Contract Operations Program for the law department
  • Leverage best practices for contract lifecycle management, ensuring appropriate controls and documentation are put in place and adhered to
  • Work closely with law department team members, IT business partners, and business stakeholders to understand and refine requirements, objectives, and processes
  • Drive strategic solutions and ensure that all contracts are properly stored and managed in the Ironclad CLM platform
  • Complete Ironclad CLM Administrator training and lead contract template rationalization and harmonization efforts
  • Establish and ensure adherence to a template governance process and maintain the inventory of law department-approved templates
  • Manage the configuration of templates, workflows, clauses, reports, and notifications on the Ironclad CLM platform
  • Build and maintain knowledge of critical upstream/downstream systems and workflows
  • Participate in and help prepare User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test scripts and revise based on user scenarios
  • Log UAT test results and track issues through resolution
  • Oversight of the Ironclad CLM platform to ensure fully executed contracts are being stored in the CLM platform
  • Manage users and groups and their associated permissions and settings
  • Drive adoption and effective use of the Ironclad CLM platform and develop change management materials

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, with an LLB from a recognized University in India preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a Corporate Law Department
  • 3 years of experience with CLM/legal technology solutions
  • Technical experience in system administration/configuration, operations (general or legal), tech operations, or solutions management in the legal ecosystem
  • Proficiency in applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Word/Office and Excel
  • Experience with the Google business suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets) preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize workload and projects
  • Strong team ethic and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Solutions-focused and motivated to unblock the team and stakeholders

  • Experience with contract template rationalization and harmonization efforts
  • Knowledge of critical upstream/downstream systems and workflows
