About the Role

The Controls Design Engineer role at Ehvert Engineering Inc. is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile, hyperscale, and AI data center projects. As a skilled engineer, you will be responsible for developing and producing control system design drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. You will work closely with a team of multidisciplinary engineers to ensure integrated and consistent design delivery.

The role is focused on developing high-quality design deliverables, with a strong emphasis on Revit-based design and supporting broader low-voltage systems. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from large-scale data centers to smaller, more specialized facilities.

As a Controls Design Engineer, you will be expected to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and produce control system design drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Support the design of building automation and control systems for HVAC and related systems under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Assist with layout, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs for control systems
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent design delivery
  • Contribute to low-voltage system design efforts, including controls, fire alarm, and related systems as needed
  • Update and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project standards
  • Support design reviews by incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions
  • Assist with preparation of submittals, as-built drawings, and commissioning documentation
  • Follow internal QA/QC processes and applicable industry standards and codes

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3-6+ years of experience in controls design, building systems, or low-voltage systems
  • Proficiency in Revit is strongly preferred; experience with AutoCAD required
  • Basic understanding of BAS/BMS systems, DDC controls, and integration with HVAC systems
  • Exposure to fire alarm and/or other low-voltage systems (security, communications) is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow technical direction

Nice to Have

  • Experience with BIM, VDC, digital twins, and augmented reality
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes, such as NEC and IEC
  • Familiarity with data center design and construction
  • Experience with project management software and collaboration tools
