Job Description

## About the Role The Corporate Counsel position at Cummins is a critical role that requires handling a variety of complex legal matters or projects across a wide range of businesses and functions within Northeast Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will act as the lead lawyer supporting Cummins' Japan business and operations, including managing the relationship between the Legal function and key business stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who is action-oriented, can balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, and communicates effectively.

As part of the Cummins Legal function, the Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing a full range of legal services in support of Cummins Inc. and its consolidated businesses. This will involve working closely with global teams and assisting in the development of legal strategies for the business. The ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders with numerous concurrent projects, priorities, and deadlines is essential.

The Corporate Counsel will report to the Legal function and will be part of a global team of legal professionals. The role requires a law degree from an accredited law school, Japanese language skills, and at least 8 years of relevant experience in-house or in a law firm.

## What You Will Do - Handle a variety of complex legal matters or projects across a wide range of businesses and functions within Northeast Southeast Asia - Act as the lead lawyer supporting Cummins' Japan business and operations, including managing the relationship between the Legal function and key business stakeholders - Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, including master supply and service agreements, turnkey/EPC agreements, tenders, and regional supply addendums - Work cross-functionally and with global teams to assist in the development of legal strategies for the business - Manage multiple stakeholders with numerous concurrent projects, priorities, and deadlines - Provide legal and practical advice within the appropriate business context - Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and industry best practices - Communicate obligations and deadlines to internal stakeholders - Support the development and implementation of processes and policies to ensure compliance and risk mitigation - Influence or contribute to overall objectives and goals of the organization - Provide support and leadership in legal function projects

## What We Are Looking For - Law degree from an accredited law school - Japanese language skills (business level) - At least 8 years of relevant experience in-house or in a law firm - Ability to work cross-functionally and with global teams - Strong grasp of business environment - Effective communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with numerous concurrent projects, priorities, and deadlines - Licensed to practice law in Singapore
