Mercor is seeking a seasoned Corporate Law Expert to join their team as an M&A Specialist on a contract basis. This role is crucial in designing and implementing digital workspaces and tasks for corporate attorneys, ensuring seamless collaboration with research teams, and contributing to cutting-edge AI research and benchmarking initiatives. The day-to-day responsibilities will involve working with a range of digital tools and platforms, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, Datasite Diligence, Intralinks, Icertis, and HotDocs, to name a few. The M&A Specialist will need to be adept at analyzing complex legal data, drawing meaningful conclusions, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
What You Will Do
- Design and implement digital workspaces and tasks for corporate attorneys to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Collaborate with research teams to identify and analyze market trends and legal precedents
- Contribute to the development of AI research and benchmarking initiatives to stay ahead of the curve
- Provide expert legal advice on M&A, capital markets, and corporate governance matters
- Analyze and interpret large datasets to inform business decisions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external counsel and regulatory bodies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest legal developments and industry trends
- Participate in the development of legal strategies and policies
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality results
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication
What We Are Looking For
- A JD degree from a reputable institution
- Active bar admission in the United States
- A minimum of 3+ years of full-time corporate experience at an AmLaw 100 firm or Fortune 500 in-house legal department
- Strong background in M&A, capital markets, corporate governance, or commercial transactions
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, Datasite Diligence, Intralinks, Icertis, and HotDocs
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with project management and prioritization
