## About the Role The Corporate Network Engineering Manager at Stripe will play a critical role in leading the team responsible for designing, building, and operating the company's global corporate offices, support centers, and partner networks. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a deep understanding of network engineering principles, as well as the ability to manage and grow a high-performing team. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, establishing metrics to track operational efficiency, and ensuring the company's network infrastructure remains resilient and scalable. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in managing global networks and leading cross-functional teams. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Your expertise in network design, automation, and security will be essential in driving the company's continued growth and success. As a key member of the IT leadership team, you will work closely with other stakeholders to develop and implement infrastructure solutions that support the company's rapidly expanding global presence. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be critical in this role. ## What You Will Do - Lead a global team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure the team's success - Design, build, and operate Stripe's global corporate offices, support centers, and partner networks - Develop and implement automated provisioning, remediation, and telemetry tools to drive efficiency - Establish metrics to track operational efficiency and bring a process-driven mindset to the team - Collaborate with Security, Engineering, IT, and Operations teams to develop and implement infrastructure solutions - Resolve complex network issues and provide support through a rotating 24/7/365 on-call schedule - Improve and create support procedures and documentation for global network services - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement - Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as needed - Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans ## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on managing global networks - 2+ years of experience managing direct reports who are geographically dispersed - Deep knowledge of routing protocols (BGP), Layer 2 technologies (link/chassis aggregation), and network security (IPSec VPNs) - Hands-on experience with Junos and Juniper routers, switches, and firewall hardware - Demonstrated success building internal tools and automation at scale using Python or other scripting languages - Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues - Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and project management methodologies (e.g. Agile) ## Nice to Have - Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) - Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes) - Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance regulations (e.g. PCI-DSS, HIPAA) - Experience with network monitoring and analytics tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Splunk) - Certification in network engineering or a related field (e.g. CCIE, CCNP) ## Benefits and Perks - Competitive salary and equity package - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance - Flexible PTO policy and paid holidays - Remote work stipend and equipment budget - Professional development opportunities, including training and conference attendance - Access to a global network of talented engineers and technicians - Opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects that drive business growth - Collaborative, dynamic work environment with a team of experienced professionals
