About the Role

The Corporate Security Operations Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the security and protection of OpenAI's employees and executives in India. This position will be responsible for leading day-to-day corporate and physical security operations, creating and maintaining a secure environment that allows team members to focus on their work without fear of harm or disruption. The successful candidate will report to the APAC Security Manager and serve as the primary security point of contact in India.

As the Corporate Security Operations Manager for India, you will be an integral part of this team, balancing strong risk management with a calm, service-oriented approach.

What You Will Do

  • Operationalize the India office physical security program, including access control, visitor management, incident response, and general office security operations as the presence in India evolves.
  • Manage security vendors and contract guard forces, including post orders, performance standards, coverage, SLAs/KPIs, and operational improvements.
  • Partner closely with Workplace/Facilities, HR, IT/InfoSec, Legal, and office leadership to implement sensible and employee-friendly security controls.
  • Lead local incident response and follow-through, including documentation, after-action reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Support security planning for in-office events, leadership visits, and business travel into or out of India as required.
  • Monitor the local risk environment and support security readiness through emergency preparedness planning, evacuation procedures, and coordination with Workplace teams.
  • Liaise closely with APAC regional security management and, as appropriate, other CorpSec pillars to manage risk, events, and travel.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, security vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective security operations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8–10 years of experience in corporate security, protective services, law enforcement, military, or related fields, with increasing responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading physical security operations within a corporate office environment, ideally in technology or other high-confidentiality industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing security vendors and guard force operations, including performance oversight and operational standards.
  • Strong incident management and operational response experience, including documentation and after-action improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Professional/business-level English (written and spoken), including the ability to produce clear reports and communicate with global teams.
  • Hindi and other local language capabilities are strongly preferred to effectively manage vendors, building management, and local authorities.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Experience working within global organizations and collaborating across time zones.
  • A strong ethical foundation and commitment to OpenAI's mission and values.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Knowledge of Indian laws and regulations related to security and data protection.
  • Certification in security management, such as the Certified Security Manager (CSM) or the Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
  • Experience with crisis management and emergency response planning.
